This is not a game, but a really tough competition

The International Mobile Gaming Awards has started registrations for this year's edition of the competition. This is the fourth year in a row when game developers do their best in winning the prizes and acknowledging the leading mobile game producing companies.

Contestants will be competing in several categories for winning the highest available prize. They can choose to apply for the Connectivity category, which involves multi-platform and social networking. Moreover, they can also take a chance on developing the best 3D game, or the best IP-based one. There is also an award for Excellence in Game Play, for the most challenging and entertaining game concept, as well as for Best Casual Game, using Flash or Java.

Moreover, the International Mobile Gaming Awards organizers expect to see this year even more creativity in combining the right environments and development solutions for reaching excellent mobile gaming results.

There is a total of five categories where contestants can choose from applying. Prizes consist not only of money, but also in software licenses from Adobe, mobile phones from Nokia and a guaranteed contract with an operator and a publisher which will market the developed game title.

This year, the total prize worth is of USD 40,000. From the initial registrations, a total of 25 will be selected by the end of October. These competitors have the chance of showing their demo version of the game on the 28th of January 2008. Based on these results, the winners will be selected and announced in Barcelona, on the 11th of February, next year.
