The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II is the second installment in the gothic action role-playing game trilogy revolving around the famous monster hunter, currently in development by Neocore Games.

The main features of the sequel have been officially announced. Players will have the option to brave the perils with three playable classes, the Hunter, the Thaumaturge and the Arcane Mechanic, all included in the base game, as well as to continue the story with their existing characters.

Multiplayer has been implemented into the game, allowing players to test their prowess via the PvP mode (limited to 8 players) or tackle the dangers of Borgovia together in the co-operative campaign (limited to 4 players).

The Hunter's Lair will see a return in the sequel, being the perfect hideout for players to stash their loot, teleport between key game locations, forge new items, get new quests and acquire insight concerning the resistance against the scientific scourge plaguing the land.

The Hall of Trophies has been added to the Lair, giving players the possibility to adorn it with trophies found during their quests, resulting in various global modifiers to the game world and characters.

The tower defense mini-game where players have to defend their Hunter's Lair against wave after wave of enemies has seen its share of improvements, with new gameplay mechanics, more deployable traps and upgradable functions and up to 7 side-quest levels.

Players will also be invited to participate in the micromanagement of the Borgovian Resistance, improving the troops' equipment and finding loot that bolsters their capabilities.

The player's companion, ghastly Lady Katarina, also benefits from a few new upgrades, gaining two new ability trees.

Players will be able to charge up to three Power Up skill modifiers on 8 active skills by spending Rage points accumulated from their feats of carnage.

The fragmentation system has been added to the existing crafting options players have. In addition to forging, enchanting and infusing items with essences, it is also possible to shatter artifacts into magical runes that can be altered and placed on new items, imbuing them with powerful effects.

During their adventure, players will find a unique creature, an artificial monster straight from the Ink, the Chimera. They will be able to tame the monster and employ it in combat or send it to the Ink on treasure-hunts.

No official launch date has been set yet.
