The guys over at Screen Junkies thought it would be fitting to give their famous “Honest Trailer” treatment to one of the movies in the Star Wars series, since news about the upcoming Episode VII are flooding the media these days.

The first thing that becomes immediately apparent is the fact that the team did not like the movie “a prequel-sequel that proved The Phantom Menace wasn't an accident,” as the voice-over in the video so astutely puts it.

The video then proceeds to make evident plot loops, bad decisions in terms of visual effects, casting and acting. The latter part is made possible by Hayden Christensen or, as the video calls him, “Haydon't Act Again.”

There are several visual examples with Chris' lines, facial expressions and overall performance, which makes the movie hard to watch. Of course, they also made fun of the famous sand scene in which an unconvincing Hayden can be heard saying “I don't like sand, it's course, rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.”

The latter part of the trailer is made up of a hefty montage showcasing the director's obsession with fading scenes using the swipe visual effect. Naturally, it's accompanied by a gag reel soundtrack.

Let's hope that J.J. Abrams can do a better job and return the franchise to its former glory.
