Everyone is going crazy these days about how Michael Bay totally destroyed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise by changing essential aspects of their background, but also adding his personal touch to the story. The honest trailer for the 1991 movie “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze” comes to prove you're misremembering things.

Because the movie in question was seriously censored, the resulting characters are super lame and the trailer points that out from the beginning, leading to some frustrating discrepancies, such as the turtles not using their weapons to do battle.

The worst scene is when the turtles get caught in a net and don't use their swords to cut their way out. The makers of the video also poke fun at the costumes worn by villains and the fact that there is a Vanilla Ice moment in the film and a turtle dance routine set to it.

So, based on just what you've seen, which version would you say you prefer: the lame ‘90s version that mainly sang and danced in front of their enemies, or the CGI version Michael Bay created and is now hinting they are of alien origin?

Yes, we know, it's a matter of choosing the lesser evil, but let's face it, the turtles were never really superhero material, they never took themselves serious enough of that.
