Nippon Ichi Software has revealed more information on their upcoming title, The Guided Fate: Cross Thesis Awakening, telling of the importance of the game's story and emphasis on the player choice.

A sequel to The Guided Fate Paradox, The Guided Fate: Cross Thesis Awakening is scheduled to come to the PlayStation 3 home entertainment system, which will not only expand the original story but will also feature full 3D graphics.

The upcoming game will revolve around the tough choices players will have to make as they advance through the game, and Nippon Ichi Software has offered an overview of its storyline.

Several years after the revolution in the first game, the powerful demon known as Satanadia has fallen, but the demons continue to dominate the struggle.

In the middle of the heated war between demons and angels, one area of the heavenly realm employed guerrilla tactics in order to withstand the onslaught and has continued God's research on the ultimate anti-demon weapon, the Fate Awakening Crystal, a device which has the power to transform mankind into gods.

The protagonist is on his way home after school when he is suddenly attacked and dies, after his heart is pierced. He awakes in the heavenly realm to find that he has been saved by a mysterious girl, and that the Fate Awakening Crystal has been transplanted within him, making him part of the war between the two cosmic forces.

The protagonist will have to choose between the death of two beloved women, only one of which he will be able to save. From inner strength and suffering, he will draw upon the "ultimate choice," which will at times result in the unexpected killing of others, involution and other dire consequences, but in order to defeat the enemy players will have to make any and all sacrifices possible.

The protagonist, Shin Kamikaze, is a gentle and passive boy, a bit socially awkward and with a tough time trusting other people, as he doesn't have parents and was teased about it since he was little.

After being killed by a demon, he suddenly wakes up as a god, and finds that his fate is now not his own anymore. The "ultimate choice" system will play a big part in The Guided Fate: Cross Thesis Awakening, with many difficult decisions awaiting throughout the story.

As such, the fate of certain characters as well as the entire story will change according to choices players make, and there won't be any right or wrong answers, oftentimes players having to pick from entirely unreasonable choices.

Not only will decisions shape the story, but they will also reflect on the protagonist's growth, determining what kind of person he becomes as players progress through the game.

The Guided Fate: Cross Thesis Awakening will be released on July 24 for the PlayStation 3, in Japan.
