Action thriller pits man against nature and a pack of CGI-ed wolves

You should never underestimate Liam Neeson. As we said in our review for “Unknown,” in which he played the leading man, he can pull off extremely physically challenging roles with a lot of believability.

The same seems to be the case with the upcoming “The Grey,” which just got a brand new trailer.

Directed by Joe Carnahan and starring, besides Neeson, James Badge Dale, Dallas Roberts, Dermot Mulroney, Nonso Anozie, Joe Anderson and Frank Grillo, the film is typical “man vs. nature” fare.

It tells the story of a group of men who survive a plane crash in Alaska and must make their way back to civilization, since it's clear that no one will come looking for them there.

While both Neeson and Carnahan have what it takes to make such a difficult film be a very convincing and enjoyable experience, some of the CGI in the trailer leaves a lot to be desired.

As we speak, jokes about how Neeson is out to kill the Wolf Pack in “Twilight” (which were similarly poorly done) are all the rage online.

However, there's no denying that Neeson is dead serious about getting home, back to his wife.

“The Grey” is out on January 27, 2012.
