New Law Project in development

A new law project was presented to the French cabinet, meant to impose more strict online limitations which will interfere with terrorist activity conducted online. Dangerous networks such as the Al-Qaeda have developed shrewd online communication systems, which authorities have a hard time to detect.

One of the restrictions this law would introduce involves extending the period of time for which cybercaf?s are required to keep logs of Internet connection data. Internet cafes are a perfect spot for linking terrorists all over the world, because they insure anonymity and the perfect cover.

The Internet has become the perfect environment for terrorists to communicate plans, for recruitment and for military instruction. A computer with an Internet connection is now the most dangerous tool terrorists have for training and communication.

One of the fail-proof methods of keeping in touch with other terrorist doesn't even involve the actual message being sent, so how could it be detected? The "dead letter box" system means that someone creates an e-mail account, gives the password to other members of a group and communicates by saving messages in the Draft folder without sending them. It is believed this was how terrorists communicated for organizing the WTC attacks on September 11.
