According to recent studies, France is the European country which spends the most time connected to the Internet... well, actually its residents do. The study proves that French people spend almost 13 hours a week online, which is a lot more than what the Spanish or the British do, which both tie at about 10 to 11 hours.

The European Interactive Advertising Association (EIAA) presented the results of this study early this week and stated that the nation which presents the smallest interest towards the Internet is Italy. Italians spend the least time online with an average of only eight hours a week, according to the results of the study. The conclusion was based on a large-scale interview which involved 7,000 random telephone individual discussions with 1,000 respondents across Europe.

However, on a continental scale, Europeans were much more active online in 2005 compared to previous years and are now spending 17 percent more time online than in 2004, and 56 percent more compared with the year before.
