Before we get to see another James Bond installment, we will be treated to another spy thriller directed by a famous British director (Guy Ritchie, this time): “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” which has just gotten a first trailer.

You can find it embedded below.

U.N.C.L.E. stands for United Network Command for Law and Enforcement, and is apparently just the place you want to bring 2 longtime rivals to make peace, in order to work together for a common goal - and an admirable one while we’re at it, because they’re saving the world.

The film is based on a successful TV series that aired in the UK, which was somewhat inspired by the James Bond phenomenon, in the sense that it featured the same type of humor and intricate plots… with spies, of course.

However, this feature film will be nothing like the new iteration of Bond, the one with Daniel Craig as lead. First of all, there’s Ritchie at the helm, a director famous for delivering great ensemble films with insane action and surprisingly good humor.

Secondly… well, have a look at the trailer.

“Superman” actor Henry Cavill plays CIA Agent Napoleon Solo, while “The Social Network” star Armie Hammer is KGB Agent Illya Kuryakin. They are forced to work together to solve a huge case, and will be receiving assistance along the way from the likes of Alicia Vikander, Elizabthe Debicki and Hugh Grant.

“The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” is scheduled for theatrical release on August 14.
