Google Talk's launch has shadowed MSN Messenger's latest version, 7.5. Shortly after the release, Hotfix.net already announced the list of features for MSN 8.0. The veracity of the information is uncertain, but the features are interesting nevertheless.

MSN 8.0 will have new skins, real-time emoticons and a feature called mood status. In addition, the user will be able to use animated jpg, .png or .gif as display pictures.

And since application integration is hip nowadays, MSN Messenger 8.0 will come with an integrated version of Windows Media Player 10 and, as it was expected, with a top ten of the MSN radio stations.

Starting with version 8.0, Microsoft's IM client will work better with Hotmail, Windows XP and Windows Vista, MSN Spaces and it will also incorporate an Offline Voice/Message machine.

Users will be able to pause the file transfer, and the application will provide more information on upload/download speed. MSN Messenger 8.0 will also present the users with the latest news depending on their location and it will also have a new Notifier Pop-up.

Microsoft will also adjust the loading and scrolling speed for the contact list. It remains to be seen if the above features were true or not.
