Starring critically acclaimed actor Willem Dafoe and newcomer Shanyn Leigh as a New York couple, “4:44 Last Day on Earth” starts from the worrying premise that the world, as we know it, will soon cease to exist.
This is not an apocalyptic movie in the sense that it will show what happens AS the world ends, since it rather focuses on what people do when they know they don't have any hope left.
As the trailer also puts it, “there will be no survivors.” At the same time, this poses another question: will there be no hope left either?
“4:44 Last Day on Earth” premiered at the New York Film Festival in late 2011, and will see theatrical release here on March 23, 2012.
