ZeniMax Online Studios posted artwork of one of the rewards in Elder Scrolls Online, namely an artifact that only the most powerful in the whole of Tamriel will be able to claim – the emperor's armor.

“The one who sits on the Ruby Throne cuts an imposing figure, driving enemies to flee in fear and inspiring allies to even greater deeds of conquest.

“When the emperor strides onto the battlefield, everyone takes notice--and few foes will survive to warn their allies,” ZeniMax warns players in the official post.

Along with the nice words, the developer has also posted an even nicer piece of concept art illustrating the armor suit in all its splendor, “intricately worked from the strongest materials and valuable beyond measure.”

The Elder Scrolls Online's PvP is built around three warring alliances, vying for dominance of Cyrodill, the setting of 2006's Oblivion, as reported by PCGamesN.

When one of the Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall Covenant and Ebonheart Pact will conquer the server's capital, their top ranking player will be crowned king.

According to the developers, a lot of time is being spent in order to ensure players will be self-sufficient during PvP, but team-based strategies also play an important role during battles. The game's engine is designed to handle conflicts involving hundreds of participants.

Due to latency issues, the combat system will not be the real-time one from the single-player Elder Scrolls game, but will instead be based on the stamina bar for sprinting, blocking, interrupting and circumventing incapacitating effects.

Beyond the new shiny armor, kings will also be provided with special abilities that greatly bolster their combat potential, in order to help them keep the reins of power – for should their strongholds get captured, they will find themselves usurped.
