The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is now available for pre-load on the PS4 and Xbox One platforms. In addition to the 40GB base game, the first three patches, which total 15GB, are also available for pre-load.

The Elder Scrolls Online launched on PC and Mac platforms last year and delivered a pretty ambitious multiplayer experience set in the sprawling The Elder Scrolls universe developed originally by Bethesda. Unfortunately, despite efforts from studio Zenimax, the MMO failed to catch on due to its monthly subscription so, earlier this year, the title transformed into The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.

The game now no longer requires a monthly subscription, meaning all owners can enjoy it by paying just the actual price. After several delays, the title is snow set to appear on PS4 and Xbox One platforms next week, on June 9.

Console owners can start pre-loading the massive RPG

Until then, Zenimax mentions on the official forums that The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is now available for pre-load on the PS4 and Xbox One.

As such, those who've already pre-ordered the digital copy of the game from the PS Store or Xbox Games Store can start download the game's standard files, which weigh in at a whopping 40GB, not to mention the first three patches, which clock in at 15GB on both devices.

Existing PC owners of the game who've selected the option to transition to PS4 or Xbox One will get their special codes via email next week, on Monday, June 8. After they input the code on their respective console, they'll also be able to download the MMORPG.

The actual game's servers go live on June 9 so you won't be able to play The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited on PS4 or Xbox One until then. Expect actual start times for the MMO to be announced early next week.
