The multiplayer title will see its systems tested soon

The Division, the upcoming multiplayer open world action adventure title from Ubisoft, will see some alpha and beta stages ahead of its release in early 2016, although it's unclear if the different test periods will be available for the general public or only for a few invited fans.

The Division was revealed to the world quite some time ago and developer Massive Entertainment has made a big deal about its proprietary Snowdrop engine and how it enables the multiplayer title to deliver a quality experience.

Unfortunately, the huge amount of work needed for the title made Massive to bring in help from Ubisoft's other studios, in the form of Reflections, Red Storm, and more recently Annecy.

Earlier this week, the publisher confirmed that The Division would not meet its late 2015 release timeframe, as it now targets the first three months of 2016 for its actual debut.

Alpha and beta stages will be organized for The Division

Speaking in a recent conference call about the financial results of the company, Ubisoft's boss Yves Guillemot has confirmed, via Gamespot, that feedback from fans ahead of launch is essential, especially given the multiplayer nature of The Division.

"It’s an RPG online game. So those games take more time to be completed," he says. "We want to make sure we have enough feedback from consumers from alpha and betas to polish it as much as possible before the launch. So that it comes to the market with the best experience possible."

As such, it's certain that test periods for The Division will be organized ahead of its launch in 2016. However, it's unclear if they'll be public test periods for all those interested in the game or closed ones just for those who get invitations.

Considering that recent upcoming titles, like Rainbow Six Siege, also got similar test stages available for most interested people, it's all but certain that many people will be invited to the game, especially to test the servers.
