It’s finally here: after much hype, Warner Bros. has just released the first official teaser trailer for Chris Nolan’s third and final Batman film, “The Dark Knight Rises.” Check it out in full by clicking the image above.

Fans alreadyknow to expect from “The Dark Knight Rises” a bigger, much darker and (hopefully) better film than the previous two installments, considered the best instances of comic book-based films in modern cinematography.

With the first teaser poster, they now also know to expect the biggest challenge for the caped crusader as well: there, in the background, is Bane walking away from Batman’s crushed face mask.

It’s raining and we can also see on the ground signs of a great battle – and perhaps even more pieces of The Bat’s suit. Bane seems to have won.

The impression is reinforced by the huge caption “The legend ends,” hinting that, this time, Batman might have actually met his match in the ruthless, extremely violent and completely remorse-free Bane.

As teaser posters go, this one is perfection: you can almost smell the anticipation in the air.

“The Dark Knight Rises” drops in the summer of 2012. Tells us what you think of the poster in the comments section below.
