Kalypso Media publisher and Noumena Studios developer have just released a new set of screenshots from their upcoming The Dark Eye: Demonicon RPG title.

The new screenshots have been taken from an alpha build of the game, a few months ago, and have been showcased at this year's GDC (Game Developers Conference). They have been recently leaked via Evil Avatar forum.

The game is supposed to be out this summer on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon for $40/ €40/£25.80.

Demonicon is an action-RPG title set in fantasy world of “The Dark Eye,” a setting specific to a very popular German pen & paper game.

According to developers, the game tells the story of a brother and sister who unwillingly become pawns of sinister forces in a world that is already governed by cruelty and depravity.

“In this bleak yet magical world, their affection is both a blessing and a curse. Both are constantly threatened by mortal danger and demonic temptation, and must find a way through their tortured lives by facing serious moral decisions.

Their common destiny will determine that of the entire continent, and will be decided by the choices they make. Hordes of fiends block their way to freedom and peace, and only through battle and magic they will truly become free of the darkness.”

The Dark Eye: Demonicon is a third-person action-RPG built on the Vision” engine and featuring quite interesting melee attack combos and a wide range of magic spells. In fact, Kalypso claims the game has a unique magic system that grants the player devastating mystical powers via a dark talent.

It is also worth mentioning some of the most important events happening in Demonicon will be introduced in “The Dark Eye” universe’s lore. More details are available at the game’s dedicated site.
