OCZ Technology announced the launch of a new DDR2 memory module that features a hybrid cooling solution and according to the manufacturing company it is simply the "fastest" and "the most ground-breaking" "memory product existing today". This new memory module is really fast for the DDR2 memory standard, running at a clock frequency of 1200MHz or PC2-9600. This speed comes at the price of an increased voltage, 2.35 Volts, and generated heat so an efficient cooling design was a must.

The heat dissipation solution implemented by the OCZ engineers is called the OCZ FlexXLC (Xtreme Liquid Convention) and it features a heatsink with superior dissipation qualities. The hybrid copper and aluminum design of the heatsink can be used for both passive air cooling and as an active cooling solution using water. In order to make the most or the enhanced thermal dissipation design, the OCZ PC2-9600 FlexXLC memory module is built using a new PCB substrate that has 8 layers. According to OCZ "this facilitates less "crosstalk," consequently enhancing the module's total signal integrity", making it perfect for overclockers that are usually plagued by the magnetic interferences between various components.

Another feature that sends this memory module straight to the high end corner is the presence of the built in Enhanced Performance Profiles( EPP for short) circuit that is integrated into the SPD in order to provide easy to access overclocking capabilities. This approach eliminates the need for "manual configuration and makes memory optimization easy for the complete range of consumers".

Just like most OCZ memory products, the PC2-9600 FlexXLC modules are highly optimized for the newest computing platforms and they come packed as dual channel memory kits, 2x1024MB. OCZ backs up all its memory products by a full time life warranty and customer support.
