14 DAY TRIAL // The development team at Ubisoft in charge of The Crew is announcing that it is introducing a new content update and a new downloadable content pack for the racing title, which is designed to introduce a range of new vehicles for gamers to test and a new event to take part in.
The details can be seen in the video at the bottom of this article and the highlight is the Player versus Player mode called Eliminator, which can be used for ten races and needs two to eight players to take part.
Each gamer will have a number of set lives at the start and the car that's in last place as the race progresses will lose a life every time a timer expires, which creates tension and a need to overcome one's limits in order to get and stay in first place.
The Crew also has more faction missions to explore and more tuning specifications for six cars.
Ubisoft is not offering information on the tweaks that it has made to the core mechanics of the title, but the overall experience should be improved for all players.
The Crew is also receiving a new Speed Car pack, which introduces the Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo, the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe Black, and the Alfa Romeo 4C.
Those who have the Season Pass will be able to get the new content for free.
The Crew is the first mix of racing and MMO
The Crew is an interesting title because it aims to introduce a racing experience which will capture the attention of players in the long term, with a host of ideas borrowed from the MMO genre.
Ubisoft says that it wants to engage with the community with new content drops and some cool events and that it has plans to continue updating the title for the rest of 2015.
The Crew had some issues, mostly linked to network infrastructure, when it was launched, but the developers have managed to solve them relatively quickly.
The success of the hybrid might be a good sign for another title from the same company, The Division, which is expected to arrive later in 2015.
