The numerous warnings regarding the destructive potential of the spyware elements don't seem to have an effect on the American companies' employees.

In a survey carried out in the US, over 40% of the respondents said that their own IT departments are not aggressive enough with the spyware phenomenon, and 53% admitted that they still have a lot to learn about this field of online security.

Corporate users are aware of the existence of spyware, but a study carried out by Trend Micro points out that, unfortunately, their knowledge is only limited to the concept of spyware, without fully grasping the meaning of it. Furthermore, the network administrators and the specialized IT personnel are not doing anything to change this.

Almost 87% of the respondents said that they've heard about spyware, and almost 40% are actually enraged by the experts' behavior of not providing the necessary information to help them avoid dangers.

The same study discovers that the Americans are the most exposed to the spyware phenomenon, with a percentage of 40%. In comparison, only 14% of the Japanese corporate users and 23% of the Germans said that they've come across spyware on the systems they work on.
