Publisher Electronic Arts has announced that it has entered into a partnership with the Canadian Hockey League, which will see teams from the organization make their way to EA Sports NHL 11 when it's launched at some point during September of 2010, with some outlets talking about the seventh as the release date. There are around 60 teams in the three divisions in Canada and they will all be represented with their colors and the skills of their players.

David Branch, who is the president of the Canadian Hockey League, stated, “The CHL is very excited to partner with an industry leader like EA SPORTS to create a brand new way for CHL fans to associate with their favorite CHL teams and players.“

Jordan Edelstein, a vice president of marketing at EA Sports, added, “It’s exciting to have the CHL integrated into our game for the first time. Their inclusion will make NHL 11 the most definitive and complete hockey experience available.”

EA Sports is saying that 47 percent of all the players who are recruited to the NHL came from the Canadian teams and in 2010, a player from the CHL, either Tyler Sequin from the Plymouth Whalers or Taylor Hall from the Windsor Spitfire, is expected to be the first selected in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. The CHL will appear in the Be A Pro mode, Be a GM and Tournament, Season and Playoff modes. The Mastercard Memorial Cup will also be included.

The development team at EA Canada has stated that most of the issues players had with NHL 10 have already been addressed with the new entry in the series and that the focus is now on making NHL 11 a smoother experience, with a better in-game representation of the real-life action that takes place on the ice.
