Miniaturization is one of the most important trends in technological design nowadays, this being the reason why our cellphones, digital cameras, notebooks, etc. are getting smaller and smaller, and thus more portable. This ultra-portability is exactly the main selling point of the following device, namely Proporta's Freedom Keychain GPS 2000 receiver, which is so small (46 mm x 32mm x 14.7mm, 22 grams) that it can be easily carried on your keychain.

As in the case of any GPS receiver out there, the main role of the GPS 2000 is to provide GPS functionality to various portable devices, such as PDAs or notebooks. And in order to do so, it requires two basic components, namely the GPS and Bluetooth modules, which will be described as follows.
