Revitalized by DotEmu

DotEmu, a start-up specialized in bringing classic video games to new devices, just announced the launch of Krypton Egg for Smartphone. The demo version of the game is also playable online on the developer's website.

Krypton Egg has been promoted to the "best breakout game in the world" by the French magazine PC Loisirs when it first came out in 1989. Enhanced to PC in 1997, the title has been officially licensed by DotEmu to have a second life on mobile and on the Web.

Krypton Egg strongly resembles the first version of the Breakout game in terms of gameplay, as you have to bounce the ball to destroy bricks. Still, the revitalized version gives you, after a few levels, the possibility to manage dozens of balls at a time by taking advantage of the creative power-ups all over the screen. As a matter of fact, you can play Krypton Egg as a shooter-game, because during some special levels you get to enter a Shooting style mode, which challenges you to defeat hordes of enemies and bosses.

You will have the opportunity to restart from any level you have cleared, and the only question here is whether or not you will be able to hit the highscores? With 72 levels and 30 power-ups, Krypton Egg is bound to keep you hooked from the moment you push the start button all the way to the end.

Some of its key features include: 72 levels for hours of gameplay, the opportunity to unlock special levels and defeat bosses, 30 power-ups including bonuses, penalties, special effects, addictive and original music, as well as the chance to continue your game from any level you’ve completed.

The title will be available starting October 23rd, on Windows Mobile and Palm, and in November for Symbian and PC Windows platforms.
