No one expected this to happen, but following the death of girlfriend L'Wren Scott, Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger has decided to postpone their upcoming tour in Australia and New Zealand, despite the fact that they were billed to play to sold out venues.

Today, the Guardian is reporting that the rock band is not canceling the tour, but rather postponing it, as it's been rescheduled to October. The 14 On Fire Tour will be returning “Down Under,” but only after Jagger comes to terms with the sudden and tragic loss of long-time girlfriend, L'Wren Scott.

Frontier Touring, the company responsible for the event, reassured fans that ticket holders would be reimbursed in case the new dates weren't to their liking. “If the new dates are not suitable, rest assured you will be able to secure a refund,” said an official statement.

It also specified how you can get your money back, “While we encourage fans to hold on to their tickets, the option to secure a refund is now available to you via the official ticketing agency you purchased from.”

The company also added that anyone who bought the ticket would be able to get back the money they paid for it, as well as any other charges and fees incurred in the purchasing of said ticket.

When news broke out that Scott was dead, the entire band showed their support for Jagger and agreed that postponing the tour was the best decision under the circumstances, apologizing to fans.

While it's still unclear if Jagger left Australia in order to fly back to the States, at least some of the members of the band were still spotted in country. For example, drummer Charlie Watts played a brief impromptu performance at a jazz club in Perth, together with the band's saxophonist Tim Ries, and after he was spotted with guitarist Keith Richards at an Indian restaurant.

Just today, the official confirmation from the New York Medical Examiner's Office arrived, revealing that Scott's death was indeed a suicide. The fashion designer was found on Monday by her assistant, hanging from the door handle, with a scarf around her neck.

The main reason for her suicide is believed to have been financial troubles with her fashion company, while others have suggested that it had more to do with the fact that her relationship with Mick Jagger was not heading towards marriage, despite the 13 years they were together.
