Bay Trail tablets are becoming quite main stream these days

Remember the Chiligreen MX500 tablet I told you about not so long ago? Well the same producing company has now rolled out another 10.1-inch Windows 8 tablet.

This one has been called the AlpenTab Alpenfenster and offers the same standard 1280 x 800 pixel resolution stretched on a pretty large 10.1-inch IPS screen.

At its core, there’s a 1.33 GHz Intel Atom Z3740D Bay Trail quad-core processors, which can be overclocked at 1.83GHz when needed. The powerhouse can be fitted with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card).

In the photography department the slate has dual cameras (5MP on the back and 2MP in front) and other standard functions like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI out and USB 2.0 are part of the bundle too.

Customers acquiring this tablet might be interested to know, there’s a huge 8000 mAh battery powering everything, which is guaranteed to last long.

The Wi-Fi version of the AlpenTab costs €499 / $683, while the 3G one is priced at €549 / $752. For the money, you’ll be getting the tablet plus a keyboard companion for your new slate and a full version of Microsoft Office 2013 Home and Student Edition.
