Assuming you remember to use it, that is, and abide by the rules

No one likes to be pulled over by the police and get their permit suspended for having had too much alcohol to drink, so Charles Michael Yim created the Breathometer.

The smartphone accessory does exactly what it says on the tin: takes a whiff of your breath and shows the alcohol content.

Yim tried a few different consumer breath analyzers and didn't consider them all that useful or convenient, either because they cost too much, were too big, cumbersome, etc. It didn't help that calibrating them could become a chore.

Thus, even though some people won't appreciate a gadget that can tell them just how bad their breath is, the man made the Breathometer and set up the project to be financed on Indiegogo.

$100 / 100 Euro pledges will earn shipments in July, while $20 / 20 Euro will get the Breathometer shipped in 2014.

Overall, the project has come a long way since March.
