When it comes to PR hick-ups, the creative minds at Thai Airways are old school in mending their errors.

Thai Airways, which is a member of Star Alliance, practice what they call “de-identifying” aircrafts with the company logo on them after an incident that could ruin their image.

In this case, one of their planes skid off the runway at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport while returning from China.

13 passengers were hurt and the media was all over the event. In case you haven't already spotted it in the photo, their logo is now concealed by that spot of black paint.

Thai officials have claimed that this is a Star Alliance policy, but, according to Guardian, the company has clarified that there is no such thing.

Star Alliance also owns Lufthansa, United Airlines and Asiana Airlines, the latter of which has recently reported a deadly plane crash.
