Study reveals what texting habits people have

A recently conducted study of the texting habits of over 8000 people around the world proves that British people are second only to the Malaysians when it comes to sending text messages.

Apparently, LogicaCMG decided to carry out the survey after David Beckham and Shane Warne were caught cheating by text messages, and they found out some pretty interesting stuff. For example, Brits are by far the most suspicious, with one in six people checking their partner's phones for flirty messages, while Germans are the most trusting, with less than 7 percent going through their partners' messages.

Approximately 40 percent of the Malaysians send flirty messages without their partners' knowing and a considerable number of Italian men use texts as a means of finding lovers. One in ten relationships in Italy started with a text message invitation to a date, while as much as a third started with text flirting.

If you were worried of what to get for your sweetheart, tough luck if you're not living in the Philippines, because it looks like all that the men living there have to do to make their partners happy is to send them romantic text messages. Over a third of the women from the Philippines prefer a romantic text to chocolates or a card. Russians have also caught up on the Valentine's Day trend with over 40 percent sending text messages on the occasion. When it comes to ditching someone via SMS messages, Singaporeans seem to be the leaders, with one in ten people having broken up with someone this way.

Jayne Chace, chief marketing officer at LogicaCMG commented: "We deliver more than half of the world's text messages and therefore understand the depth of emotion tied up with sending and receiving just a few characters of text. The reaction people have when their phone beeps to signal an incoming message resonates deeply within them, and this brings out the best and worst in people, as we can see in this report."

Needless to say, taking all this into account, one can conclude that nowadays, Valentine's Day, or a person's life for that matter, would definitely not be the same without texting and mobile phones.
