Test Drive Unlimited 2, the open-world driving game which was developed by Eden Games and published by Namco Bandai Games in Europe, has taken the number-one position in the United Kingdom video game chart, managing to prove more attractive to gamers than Dead Space 2, the horror survival third-person shooter from Visceral and Electronic Arts.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 separates itself from other racing titles by allowing extensive social options for players, from clothing upgrades to car beautification, but at the moment those who are playing the game on consoles are still reporting issues with the online modes.

Dead Space 2 might have been knocked from the number-one position, but it had a soft landing in second and the quality of the game means that it will probably be present in the top ten for some time.

FIFA 11 has also slid down one spot, from second to third, but still has staying power, although the glut of March releases might push it further down the sales list.

Call of Duty: Black Ops, the blockbuster first-person shooter from Treyarch and Activision, is in fourth, not budging either way when compared to the previous week, which means that Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood from Ubisoft has slipped down two places to fifth.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini Land Mayhem! from Nintendo has had a good second week of sales, managing to get into sixth place coming from down in 11 while Just Dance 2, the casual game from Ubisoft, has gone down one place.

Another Mario powered title, Sports Mix, has also done well to come from 12 to eighth place while Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition from Take Two has come out of nowhere in order to conquer ninth place.

Little Big Planet 2 has seen the biggest drop, from fifth place, and is now bringing up the rear of the United Kingdom top ten.
