Tesco launched its own branded tablet just a week ago, bringing competition to Amazon’s successful Kindle Fire HD and to Google’s Nexus 7. And if you’re wondering if it’s succeeding in getting customers’ attention, we have the answer for you.

Tesco’s Hudl is actually selling pretty well, according to information posted by Retail Week on Twitter and citing the supermarket chain’s boss Phil Clarke.

“Tesco has sol 35k Hudl tablets in the last 2 days, may be short on stock next week.” The cheerful tablet is available in different colors ranging from black, pink, purple and blue and sports a soft rubber back which allows users to firmly grip it.

The specs are pretty mid-range, but the tablet comes bundled with dedicated apps that will help customers set up shopping lists and manage their Tesco-related finances. Access to Blinbox, Tesco’s video-on-demand service is also provided.
