“Terminator: Genisys,” for all the years fans of the franchises waited until it finally got the greenlight and for all the hype it got before the casting began, got off to a very rocky start, PR-wise. The first official photos, published in a recent issue of Entertainment Weekly, caused more hilarity than awe online, prompting many a fan to say that the film will most definitely be a flop.

That’s clearly an exaggeration, because no one can say that with certainty at this stage, when not even half a minute worth of footage has been released. There is no denying though that the PR for the film has been off from the start.

Well, hopefully this new motion poster – the first – will make things right at last. Released on the official website of the film, it’s meant to draw attention to the fact that a first trailer will come soon as well.

In fact, on the same website, a countdown for the trailer is posted: as of the time of writing, we still have 2 days, 1 hour and change until we get our first proper look at this highly anticipated installment in the “Terminator” franchise, which is meant to reboot it and introduce it to a new segment of the audience.

“Terminator: Genisys” brings Arnold Schwazenegger back on board, but also includes new younger actors like Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith and Jason Clarke. It’s directed by “Thor” helmer Alan Taylor and is meant to strike a chord with fans of the original franchise, in that it will retell the events in the first-ever “Terminator” film.

However, Courtney insists it won’t be a play-by-play remake, but a film that stands all on its own.

“Terminator: Genisys” will be out in theaters in July 2015. Until the first trailer drops, here’s the motion poster. With it, the studio has also launched the #HeIsBack hashtag on Twitter, inviting fans to discuss it. The hashtag is an obvious reference to Schwarzenegger’s most famous line of all times, a promise he made in “Terminator” 30 years ago.
