NetCom is part of the TeliaSonera brand, one of the leading telecommunication companies that provide services to countries in the Nordic and the Baltic regions.

NetCom is the first company in Norway that announced the next generation mobile communication network that is going to be activated starting this year until 2009.

The good news is that the new network is going to be available in the main cities in Norway and will offer its customers up to ten times faster Internet access compared to the conventional 3G network. The cities that were in the top of the list were Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen and Stavanger.

"Turbo 3G will give a completely new meaning to mobile broadband. Where previously ADSL was needed to achieve satisfactory upload and download speed, all that is needed now is a computer and plug-in card," says August Baumann, President, NetCom. NetCom is also planning to launch new price plans and several news services.

"We customize the mobile broadband offering to the needs of the different customer groups and offer several new subscription solutions. The products will be adapted both to big users in the business market and to customers who wish to have access to the Internet wherever they are," says Hans Heggenhaugen, Product Manager, Mobile Broadband, NetCom.

In certain areas of Stockholm and Gothenburg, the mobile network customers can benefit from the new High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) technology, also called Turbo 3G, which gives them wireless Internet connections almost ten times faster than connection speeds in the ordinary 3G network.

TeliaSonera customers in the areas can also connect via Turbo 3G from a mobile cell, a portable computer with PC card that is HSPA-enabled.

TeliaSonera Sweden is the company that offers the Turbo G services in Sweden, Latvia and Lithuania and is also considering Finland as the next country on the list.
