The new character is recommended for beginner players

It’s been quite some time since Bandai Namco revealed new info on its upcoming Tekken 7 fighting game. But that’s about to change, as the developer has just unveiled a new character featured in the title, Lucky Chloe.

The ninth installment in the Tekken series is supposed to arrive in Japan on arcade machines sometime in Q1 2015. The game will be released on consoles afterwards, but a clear release date has yet to be announced. Tekken 7 may hit Japanese arcades in February or March, but take it as a tentative release date, not a confirmation.

Running on Unreal Engine 4, Tekken 7 comes with two new game mechanics that aren't present in the previous titles. Rage Art and Power Crush were detailed by Bandai Namco soon after the game’s reveal.

With Rage Art, players will be able to do several unblockable moves that deal quite a lot of damage (between 40%-80%) once the health bar reaches critical status. But that will come at the price of not being able to activate the normal attack power increase.

Moving on to the second game mechanic that will be introduced along with Tekken 7, Power Crush allows players to keep attacking even if hit by the enemy. Obviously, they will continue to receive damage from players while using this new power.

Three new characters have already been confirmed to appear in Tekken 7

Talking about the lineup of characters featured in Tekken 7, creator Katsushiro Harada has confirmed at least three new characters that will make their debut in the game: Katarina Alves, Claudio Serafino, and Lucky Chloe.

The latter was officially unveiled during the game’s 20th anniversary that took place in Japan over the weekend. A video showing Lucky Chloe in action has been released as well for your viewing pleasure, which you can watch below.

Lucky Chloe is a female character recommended for beginner players. Her mojo are the dance movements during fights and the cat-like outfit. DengekiOnline reports that the first time Katsushiro Harada saw the character in action, he did not think she was fit to appear in Tekken 7.

However, after seeing the staff’s positive reactions towards Lucky Chloe, he decided to turn her into a new character that will be part of Tekken 7.

The three characters mentioned earlier won’t be the only new ones included in Tekken 7, as many more have already been teased, such as Kazumi, Mishima’s wife, and an Arabian fighter who has yet to receive a name.

Update: Ok, here is the thing. Due to the negative feedback received from North American fans, it looks like Lucky Chloe will be exclusive to East Asia and Europe.

"Please add a option to delete any character you do not want to play against in Arcade battle like Lucky Chloe please!!!!," said a Tekken fan, and here's is Katsushiro Harada's reply:

"Calm down and don't worry. That character are East Asia and Europe exclusive. And I'll say again, we've more new characters on TK7. She is JUST one of them. She will be country exclusive (or region exclusive) character. We don't include her for your region. That's why I said calm down and don't worry."

However, we're not sure how serious Mr. Harada was when he decided to make this character exclusive to some regions, but if he's joking, it's not that funny. We'll update as we get more details so stay tuned.
