The system is currently in beta testing but seems neat

Tekken chief Katsuhiro Harada has revealed that the development team is currently testing a neat new feature for Tekken 7's camera system.

The new rendering camera system enables both players to play on the left side or right side of the screen, according to preference. The function is only enabled for two-screen arcade setups, of course.

Regardless of whether you're playing as player one or player two, you'll be able to pick the starting side of the screen you like best. Traditionally, player one starts on the left, and many gamers are more used to starting a bout on the left hand side of the screen.

Picking the default positioning does not offer an in-game advantage per se but feels more comfortable for many gamers, offering them a perceived advantage.

The information comes from the man himself, Katsuhiro Harada, who tweeted an image of the feature in action. The image shows two players starting in the player one position, as you can see in the gallery below.

Many new things are coming

The feature is currently being beta-tested, but if it makes the cut, it will most likely also be implemented for online multiplayer.

Tekken 7 is the upcoming entry in the long-standing fighting game series, one of the most popular on the planet. Harada has just unveiled the latest new fighter coming to the game, Shaheen, a Saudi Arabian warrior.

The game will come with a lot of fresh blood, in the form of Claudio Serafino, Katarina Alves, and Lucky Chloe, a strange-looking weeaboo character dressed up as a pink cat. The character managed to polarize the community, and Harada even joked that it would be replaced by a burly muscular dude with guns in North America.
