They weren't hackers, they just managed to guess a password

Two students from Blairsville High School were charged after they managed to break into the computer databases owned by the school, obtaining personal information belonging to students and personnel.

Aged 16 and 17, the boys accessed the system, not by having advanced hacking skill, but by trying several username and password combinations, reports WPXI.

Addresses, salaries and even social security numbers were retrieved from the databases and the most concerning fact is that they would have never got caught.

The only reason why the breach was detected is because one of them told his classmates the social security number of their teacher during a class.

"The Blairsville-Saltsburg School District administration has investigated the breach and turned the matter over to the PA State Police at the Indiana Barracks. Upon advice from the district solicitor, Mr. Jack Cambest, no further statement can be made at this time," reads a statement according to WTAE.
