18-year-old Cara Warrington has recently saved the life of a seal pup that she found on a beach at Landguard Fort in Felixstowe, UK.

Apparently, the animal somehow became entangled in some fishing gear and suffered significant injuries because of its inability to free itself.

“I went straight down and when I arrived I found the seal not far from the ramp to the beach. It was tangled in fishing netting, with line and rope all round its neck and was finding it hard to breathe. There was a deep cut part of the way round its neck caused by the net,” Cara Warrinton told members of the press.

Wishing to save the seal pup's life, Cara used a pair of scissors to free it from the fishing gear caught around its body. Later on, she cleaned its wounds with the help of anti-bacterial spray and saline solution.

The local RSPCA is now in charge of looking after the seal pup, which is to be released back into the wild once it starts feeling better.
