Police in Afghanistan stopped a young militant from acting on a terrorist plot, as he was found with explosives strapped on his body.

The boy was arrested on Friday, in the city of Baghlan, The Sun reports. He was wearing a khaki vest underneath a police officer's uniform. Law enforcement officials have stated that the explosives taped on the young man's body had the potential to obliterate dozens of civilians.

Asadullah Shirzad, chief of security in the province, has dubbed the boy a would-be suicide bomber, which would make him the second bomber arrested in the area in the last three days.

Another bomber hit Maymana, 220 miles away from Baghlan, just three days ago. 41 people were killed in the explosion, including the bomber, and 56 others were seriously injured. The bomb had been detonated at a mosque, by a man who witnesses say was also dressed as a policeman.
