Hero turns villain

Strange twists can happen anytime during one's life and this news story here proves it: what happens with a teen praised by President Bush (for solid reason) a few months after? It's amazing, yes: it turns into a burglar, a thief... or whatever you want to call the guy. Strange things happen, really.

Here is a bit of history: a 14 years old kid, Lewis Bennett III, prevented a few months ago a Columbine-like school shootout at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School in his home city. Proving a strong willed character, Bennett turned in one of his friends, Dillon Cossey, who admitted that he was planning to attack the school and he already had some weapons stockpiled. Our hero told his parents about all this and, following an investigation which proved that everything he said was true, weapons were indeed found: homemade hand grenades, a 9mm semiautomatic carbine, and other weapons in his bedroom.

Naturally, Bennett was praised by the media, parents, girls at school (probably) and even by President Bush. So you can say that the 14 years old kind of turned into a hero. Things were not set to last, though, since the youngster turned into a thief soon after.

Together with some friends he ironically (or not) targeted Dillon Cossey's house and, according to him (via GameRush Entertainment) he admitted that he and a friend broke through an unsecured window and stole an Xbox 360, together with some other electronic-game equipment and jewelry. Bennet later sold the Xbox's controller for 20 bucks and was caught while trying to sell some other goods.

Another irony is that Bennett was reported by another unnamed teen - this one wasn't praised by Bush though. Hopefully we'll not hear in a couple of months that he was caught stealing a PS3 or something... And, yes - strange things do happen.
