The two slates sell for the same price, but the Teclast one offers some improvements

You might remember that HP recently introduced a super affordable tablet, the HP 7 Plus which can be yours for just $100 / €73.

But what if I told you that you could pay the same price for a similar device that also offers full HD screen and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

Of course, such a product is made available by the ever-prolific Chinese manufacturers. Teclas has just introduced a new slate that comes with a 7-inch display, 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and a quad-core processor.

The P78HD sells for $100 / €73 in China, but customers outside the country’s borders will probably have to pay extra for shipping. Nevertheless, OrientDeal has the device selling for $111 / €81 with shipping included.

The slate draws life from an Allwinner A31 ARM Cortex-A7 quad-core processor with PowerVR SGX 544 graphics fitted with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and offers 802.11n WI-Fi, two cameras (2MP on the back and 0.3MP in the front), microSD and HDMI out.

The specs are quite similar to the recent HP 7 Plus, but there are a few differences – the device only boasts 1024 x 600 resolution and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. In all truth, the Teclast seems like a much better deal, when considering the alternative.
