The new T39

Storage space is never enough. No matter how ridiculously high the number of gigabytes, it's always better to have more? and more. And just as it happens with hardware producers who compete against each other for the title "of being the first to...", here are the mp3 player manufacturers who are having a competition of their own: "Being the first to reach 16GB".

We don't know for sure, but it seems that the less known Chinese company Teclast is one of the favorites to the title. Dapreview has news of a new portable media player, the T39, which will boast a whopping 16GB of internal memory.

The impressive amount will be backed of course by a 2.6-inch touchscreen display (hooray for fingerprints!) with 262k colors and an array of media formats: mp3, wma, wav, flac, avi and wmv (30 fps) that will satisfy even the most demanding users.

You also get an FM tuner, a recorder for your precious thoughts or corny remarks, a built-in dictionary and of course, games. In other words, you have a portable media center.

Among the announced specs, there is a most peculiar one: a battery life of 40 hours. We join Dapreview editor's doubts regarding this capacity. But let's wait and see, perhaps the Chinese have a new Li-Rice battery that will make the Li-Polymer one look like a bad joke.

In the end, let us ask you this: is it possible for Apple, Creative or some other extremely popular company to be the second and third to reach 16 gigs?

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
