No official word on the PMP, yet

Weird things happen! However, it's great to see how dual core CPUs, used in full-fledged computers, are making their way into other devices, like portable media players. The latest item of this kind is the brand new M25 PMP from Teclast.

Combining a smashing Rockchip RK2706 processor chip with a WOLFSON WM8987 audio codec, the player should definitely kick some Korean ass. Teclast makers have already announced their M series but never said a word about any of its products ever since. The company's forum is the first source to give info on the series.

The M25 MP3 player was spotted on the company's official forum. The player features an improved navigation layout, the kind that resembles pretty much with the one used with the iRiver's D-Click or Cowon's Swing Touch and I am sure there are even more players to fit the same profile.

Besides its elaborate design line, the portable media player exhibits a wide 2.4 inch 260k colors display with a resolution of 300 x 240 pixel. When it comes to its capabilities, the M25 will surely not be the coolest of its kind, but it will deal with lots of popular formats such as MP3, WMA, APE and FLAC for the audio content, while the video data will be supported in RM, RMVB and of course, AVI format. Sadly, there is no word about extra options. At least not yet.

Since convenient dimensions are a must, I suppose 82 x 65 x 15 mm should be just about the right size for a cool multimedia pocket companion. Until now, that's about all we know regarding the portable media player. But, we're looking forward to hearing some hot specs, price tag and availability info. So, hit us with your best shot, Teclast!
