Teclast is a very popular Chinese tablet manufacturer in the country and the company is pulling its latest tablet offering out of the bag just in time for the holiday frenzy.

The slate has been baptized the G18d and offers a 7.9-inch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels (the same as the first gen iPad mini had), reports 1Pad.

G18d's life power comes from a MediaTek M78389 quad-core processor (which has become quite a standard for Chinese tablets) clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 1GB of RAM. The focus point here is the slate’s design, which is very thin and light and bears some resemblances to the iPad mini.

Apart from that, we have 16GB of internal storage, 3G, and two cameras (5MP on the back and 2MP in the front). A built-in mic will also come in handy when you place phone calls (the tablet has dual-SIM), because the slate does offer this option, the product being WCDMA-enabled.

The G18d ships for the meager price $132 / €96, but couple that with shipping expenses and you might be better off purchasing the DataWind Ubislate, which has been made available in both UK and US.
