Earlier this week photos of an alleged new Aspire One netbook model have surfaced on the Internet pointing to the possible upcoming expansion of Acer's Aspire One netbook lineup. According to the initial pictures, the new system would sport a slimmer design and provide users with a more sleek form factor, compared to the company's current offerings. On that note, it appears that we now have a couple of new pictures and even a full list of system specifications, thanks to some recently leaked details.

German-language Netbooknews.de has recently added an article with the technical specifications and some new photos of the yet unofficial new Aspire One netbook. As it turns out, the new system will boast Intel's highly successful Atom processor, the N270, which is currently featured on most netbooks available on the market. Consequently, the upcoming netbook will provide support for a maximum of 1GB of memory and will be accompanied by a 160GB hard disk drive and the familiar Intel 945GME integrated graphics solution.

Aside from that, the new netbook will boast a 10-inch display with a maximum resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels, an integrated card reader, Bluetooth and, according to the details on the aforementioned website, an integrated UMTS connectivity solution. Packed with a 3-cell battery that is said to be able to provide users with about 3 hours of battery life, the new system is 0.95 inches thick, 10 inches wide and 7.28 inches deep.

Currently, there are no details on the system's pricing or possible release date, but when it will come out, you should expect it to be featured with a flavor of a Linux-based OS. However, the details on the netbook's operating system are still somewhat sketchy. Given the amount of details available at this time, we could see this new sleek Aspire One netbook at this year's CeBIT show in Hanover, Germany.
