14 DAY TRIAL // TeamViewer is enhancing both its free and paid iOS apps in a new update today, adding a “lock remote computer” feature, a much-needed Ctrl+Alt+Del button in the toolbar, and lots more other features.
Available in both free and paid forms, TeamViewer for Remote Control is a powerful remote-computing solution for iPhone and iPad users.
Mainly geared towards office work, the software just got a brand new update (version 8.0.10338), which promises to boost productivity tenfold.
First off, the upgrade delivers a new option to “lock remote computer” at the end of the session. You can set these to Auto select, Always, or Disable.
An extra button for “Ctrl+Alt+Del” is now available in the toolbar under Actions, and you can finally deactivate “Play computer sounds and music.”
An additional toolbar icon (designated by a running man) is available for unlocking the remote computer, and you can now connect to a PC by only asking to confirm the session from Computers & Contacts.
The password dialog during connection establishment can now be accepted again by simply pressing enter (Return) on the keyboard. Numerous graphical glitches are addressed, alongside various other minor bugs.
According to the developers, “TeamViewer Pro HD provides access to any number of remote computers for which you do not have to purchase any additional licenses.”
And it doesn’t cost extra to install TeamViewer on unattended computers, says the company.
To use the software, you must first install TeamViewer from the iOS App Store on your iPhone or iPad, then install and start TeamViewer on your computer, and then enter your computer’s TeamViewer ID and password directly in the TeamViewer interface on your iDevice, in order to connect.
