Valve, through the voice of Gabe Newell, has confirmed that it does not plan to deliver any content patch for the PlayStation 3 version of Team Fortress 2.

The videogame, which was initially included in The Orange Box, was launched for the PC, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. But the PS3 version of the game was not developed internally at Valve, who do not have a team dedicated to the Sony made gaming consoles, but by a team that was put together by publisher Electronic Arts.

The PC version of the game has received until now three updates aimed at various characters and more are planned for the future. These updates were designed to create more variety within the game while adding alternate weapon load outs and more Achievements related to the Medic, the Heavy and the Pyro. There are also some community maps that were released as part of the updates. The constant support for the game that the developer has offered contributed to the creation of a very tight Team Fortress 2 community of players.

The Xbox 360 version of the game is also set to receive these updates through Xbox Live in the near future, as soon as Valve puts the finishing touches on them but the developer is not interested in creating a PlayStation 3 team in order to port the updates. Electronic Arts also says that it is now interested in taking the updates from Valve and porting them.

Left 4 Dead, the team based zombie fighting shooter that Valve is now developing and which it plans to release shortly, is only thought to be released for the Xbox 360 and for the PC. Electronic Arts is reported to be interested in porting the game to the Sony console, but no agreement has been reached on the issue yet.
