Team Fortress 2 has just received a brand new update from Valve, adding a huge new feature to the online first-person shooter, in the form of a replay system that will allow players to create and edit videos of their own achievements.

Team Fortress 2 is still extremely popular many years after its release, largely because Valve has implemented a lot of new things through free updates.

Now, after a bit of a drought, no doubt caused by the company focusing on getting Portal 2 released, the game has just received a fresh update, in the form of the Replay one, which, like its name suggests, adds a replay system to the online shooter.

"Finally, there's a much easier way to show people that totally badass move you did in TF2 last night: introducing the Replay System," Valve revealed, in its trademark humorous tone.

"Never again will you have to resort to grunts and potentially lewd hand gestures. Replay-enabled servers record every round of the action, allowing you to make movies of your awesome performance (and the embarrassing performances of others) in the Replay Editor, using different camera angles, sexy motion blur and antialiasing."

Players will be able to upload their creations from within the game and share them through services like YouTube or Valve's own Steam.

As with any update, new achievements have been added, some of which net players exclusive hats for their characters.

As an even bigger treat, and in order to get players interested in the replay editor, Valve has also revealed the special Saxxy Awards competition, inspired by the famous Oscars, in which players can submit their creations to win virtual statues.

"The Saxxys boast twenty wide-ranging categories to compete in, from the ludicrous to the touchingly ludicrous. Submissions end May 19th, so if you want to bring home the gold, you'd better open up your Replay Editor and get creating."
