The player is going to be marketed in Japan

The Tokyo Electro Acoustic Company finally decided to employ the latest touch screen technology. So, the latest addition to the TEAC portfolio called MP-600 is going to provide low capacity for the portable media players market. The player is going to be marketed in 1GB, 2GB and the 4GB capacity storage.

But, if considered insufficient, the memory is going to be expanded through the SD/MMC memory cards. Unfortunately, it seems that the player is not going to be that smart, since it will be able to convert only the basic file formats such as the popular MP3, WMA (DRM), AVI (XVID), and JPEG.

The manufacturers thought about the consumers' needs and added a trendy built-in speaker. In addition, the M-600 brings in a decent collection of equalizer settings. Not to mention the FM radio that the user can switch on, if the music gets boring.

There are also recording functions that enable you to store funny memos or grocery list. Following the latest trend in the industry, the player can be used as an E-Book, and text reader, just that the LCD screen size of 3.5" might not be that great for that, unless you have eagle eyes.

And if none of this seems enough, then try its gaming capabilities, playing some good old Tetris. TEAC claims that the player's battery life is of about 10 hours of music, and no less than 5.5 video playback. And that's better than a lot of Japanese versions of mp3 players.

All in all, since it delivers an integrated movie player, an image viewer and a text viewer, along with a lot of great options, this TEAC player could actually be a convenient choice.

The player is said to sport a price tag of around 170 EURO, the same price the Meizu de Dane ELEC features for a smaller screen display.
