Taylor Swift is now dating Conor Kennedy and, truth be told, she isn't making any efforts to keep the romance under wraps. Either way, she's yet to step out on the red carpet with him as a couple – but a new report suggests it might happen at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The awards show will take place on September 6 and Taylor is one of the live performers of the night.

This will also mean she'll do the whole red carpet ceremony, posing for pictures and talking to members of the press.

This would be the ideal opportunity for her to debut her new man in public, 18-year-old Conor Kennedy, whom she's been dating since July this year, People magazine believes, speculating on the odds of that actually happening.

“The singer, who is not nominated for any awards, is slated to perform her latest single, 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,' for the first time live at the awards show. Fans can’t help but wonder if Kennedy will accompany the Grammy award winner on her big night,” the celebrity publication writes.

“If he attends, Kennedy will have to deal with more than just posing for photos. Swift’s ex-boyfriends, John Mayer, Taylor Lautner and Joe Jonas may also be in attendance,” adds the report.

One more obstacle may be the fact that Conor is due back to school on the same day the awards show takes place: he's supposed to be on campus at his boarding school for the start of the new school year on September 6.

Even assuming Taylor flies solo for this event, fans should be happy to know she's really happy with her new boyfriend, the magazine says.

They haven't been seeing each other for long but they're already very serious: not only have they spent the past month practically joined at the hip, but Taylor is already thinking ahead, of the future, by buying real estate close to him.

“Swift, 22, is even reportedly purchasing a 13-room home across the street from Conor’s grandmother, Ethel, in Hyannis Port,” writes People.
