Some time ago, Taylor Swift would make it a point of trying to avoid questions about whether some of her sadder love songs had been inspired by heartbreak in real life but, in her new Q&A with Marie Claire, she is no longer dancing around the topic.
If anything, she openly admits she writes songs about her failed romances, and then stresses that she’s proud of how they turn out.
Considering that they’re almost always chart-toppers, I’m not surprised: she has every reason to be proud.
Asked by the mag who’s on her black list, Taylor admits that it’s mostly “exes.”
Then, asked what one would find on her biggest regrets list, she answers, “Every one of my regrets has produced a song I’m proud of.” So there.
At least, she deserves credit for not naming names.
