Rumored to have been written for Jake Gyllenhaal after the nasty split that left Taylor in tears, the song is the latest single off her best-selling album “RED,” which is already moving items by the thousands.
Though this was not Taylor’s best performance so far, she does get credit for how she handled host Tom Bergeron’s innuendoes at the end.
“I don’t know if this has come up before, but I’m listening to you sing, and I’m reminded of Sean Connery. Because Sean Connery played James Bond and after he was done, he said ‘I’m never gonna play James Bond again’,” Bergeron said, perhaps hinting that Taylor might take Jake back.
“This is like, ever,” Taylor replied, denying this was a “Sean Connery type of never.”
