14 DAY TRIAL // “Gossip Girl” Taylor Momsen is facing another obstacle in her career, having just been dropped as the face of Madonna and Lourdes’ clothing line, Material Girl. She’s been replaced by Kelly Osbourne, Us Magazine
reports.
Momsen was announced as the face of the label’s first line in the summer of 2010. Given her reported difficult behavior, it was a wonder that Madonna and her daughter wanted so badly to work with her.
As it turns out, it could be that their collaboration has come to an end precisely because of that, the above-mentioned magazine speculates.
Either way, Kelly Osbourne will be featured in the promo campaign for the upcoming line. Lourdes herself was the one who chose her, it is being said.
A couple of weeks ago, Lourdes, Madonna’s daughter, blogged about how she was “desperately” looking for a new face for the upcoming collection.
She eventually settled for Kelly, it would seem.
“Material Girl is thrilled to confirm that Kelly Osbourne is the new face for 2011! We will be sharing all the details on this exciting new campaign in the upcoming weeks,” a rep for Material Girl says for the magazine.
“Osbourne, it seems, was the natural choice. ‘Kelly’s always been a massive fan of Madonna and recently heard Lourdes idolized her, which she was very flattered by. It’s a huge coup,’ a source told Britain’s Sunday Mirror,” Us adds.
If it’s true that Momsen was dropped as the face of the clothing line, this would be the second time that she’s losing money because of her attitude and public behavior.
In November last year, for instance, her role on the hit series “Gossip Girl” was cut down because producers no longer wanted to be associated with her image, it emerged.
Momsen, as fans must also know, is currently pursuing success as a rock singer, having come out with an album with her band The Pretty Reckless. Producers denied the above rumor – but it’s still being considered the real reason why she’s less on the series.
